One of the best known bathing spots in the region.
Located in the Albino Mendes da Silva Foundation tourist complex, the São Gião River Beach is part of the Alva River Valley and also belongs to the Serra da Estrela Natural Park. It has an extensive beach area surrounded by oaks, cedars, pines, poplars, willows and plane trees - an idyllic setting, full of green valleys and crystal clear waters.
There are walking opportunities along footpaths next to the irrigation channels to the bridge that crosses the river upstream. The complex uses the facilities of the old estate (traditional mill, mill, farmhouse and cloth factory), making it one of the best known bathing spots in the region.
