Chãs d'Égua Rock Art Interpretation Centre, located in Piódão, reopens this summer and will open on the first Saturday of the month, beginning on the 1 June.
On this first Saturday, as well as the presentation event for the new walking trails, there will also be a guided tour of the Centre's facilities, as well as of the Vale Covo Rock, one of the largest examples of rock art in the region. In total, there are 4 walking routes with guided visits to the sites of rock engravings.

The almost 100 engraved rocks already discovered in the parish of Piódão constitute the most important concentration of rock art found so far in an area that stretches between the Tagus and the Baixo Côa, and it is assumed that they are part of a larger complex in the Açor Mountains.
The plan for a network connecting the various interpretation centres in the Serra do Açor is also taking its first steps through the creation of a circuit between the Chãs d'Égua Interpretation Centre and the Poço do Caldeirão Interpretation Centre for Prehistoric Art, in the Barroca Aldeia do Xisto.
