Planting a tree is sowing the seeds of the future. A simple gesture that gains greater impact when done as a community.
On 21 March 2026, the Parish Council of Sobral de São Miguel, in the municipality of Covilhã, will mark World Tree Day with a symbolic initiative inviting residents and visitors to take part in planting native species.
This initiative aims to strengthen ties with the local area, encourage sustainable practices and promote the region’s natural heritage.
The event begins at 2.00 pm, with participants gathering at the Parish Council headquarters, followed by the planting of cork oaks at 2.30 pm. The initiative concludes with a social gathering at 6.00 pm at the parish’s Hunters and Fishermen’s Association.
More than just a symbolic activity, this is an opportunity to actively contribute to the future of the area and strengthen community ties.
Join this initiative and be part of the change!
