The AXTrail Series returns in 2026 with a new edition, consisting of four stages that take place throughout the first half of the year and cover villages and emblematic territories of the Schist Villages. The competition begins on February 1, in the Schist Village of Coentral (Castanheira de Pêra), and continues until June, passing through Ponte de Sótão (Góis), Janeiro de Cima (Fundão) and Janeiro de Baixo, and Fajão (Pampilhosa da Serra).
The series precedes the major annual event UTAX 2026, scheduled for October 16-18, which includes various distances and activities for different participant profiles.
