Partnerships
This is an international project between the Schist Villages Network and the Røros Museum, a UNESCO World Heritage site in Norway. The aim of this project, applied and approved under the EEA Grants Financial Mechanism, is to practice a carefull conservation, maintaining and repairing of 80 houses in several Schist Villages, through the use of traditional craftsmanship’s methods and materials. The main objective of the partnership is the transfer of knowledge, and implementation of a training process with a heritage approach, having craftspersons as the main actors. This implies the recovery and use of authentic traditional craftsmanship methods, with the use of traditional techniques and materials, and that the learning setting is the house itself. The methodology is based on workshops with works on buildings, technical symposiums and scientific publishings.
