MTB Trails
The Schist Village's Mountain Bike Centres are permanent sport infrastructures, comprised by a network of signed trails for MTB and welcoming areas equipped exclusively for MTB enthusiasts. In these hubs is available information, car parking, showers and a bike self-service station (washing, air, small bike repair workshop).
The Centres offer CrossCountry, DownHill or FreeRide trails, way marked with specific signage, internationally adopted, with four difficulty levels (green, blue, red and black) appropriate for all kinds of users, from beginners to more demanding bikers.

From this centre you have four trails available, with different difficult levels and a fifth one, long distance, which connects to Gondramaz and Lousã trails, returning later to Ferraria de S. João.
The simplest trail, with only 3,8km, is ideal for a relaxed ride, contemplating the view over the village. The remaining ones are rather more technical and long, while passing through areas of great beauty, such as Ribeira das Ferrarias Vale, Fragas da Lagoa, Campêlo ou S. João do Deserto.
The longest day is a whole-day challenge in a mountain setting, and part of the attraction is the section that takes you pedaling through the intricate streets of Gondramaz, or taking a bath on the River Beaches of Ana de Aviz and Fragas de S. Simão as well as the Casal de S. Simão village.
