Pena
Part of the network of Aldeias do Xisto, this group of four villages of the Góis council – Comareira, Aigra Nova, Aigra Velha and Peena – are integrated in a panoramic street that links them to Trevim, the highest point of the Lousă mountain range, and Santo António da Neve and other villages located to the opposote side of the mountain. It's with the eyes set to the heights that one appreciates the existence of these villages-memory and their recent and progressive transformation to villages-future, calling to each one of them a new soul that the most beautiful schist rock, on its own, cannot tell.
The Pena village makes every use of the cristal clear water of the stream. Nearby, the great rocks of Góis are a good challenge for the boldest adventurers. By the end of the day, resting is best done at the Casa da Cerejinha ("Cherry House"), a typical construction adapted as a guest house.
